Beats by Dre advert

So stoked to be asked by Curation Music to create an arrangement of “hall of the mountain king” by Grieg for this Beats by Dre advert featuring Erling Haaland.

This was a rush job – about 8 hours in total. I used Reaper as my DAW (as I do for most things these days) and despite much frustration with its rather overly complex tempo matching scripts, it performed admirably.

The job involved a mixture of transcribing by ear (picking out things through the FX and dialog) , score reading and arranging.

I struggled getting reaper to import an AAF file. At the end of the job, I purchased Chicken systems translator which works really well at converting .aaf to .rpp so I wont have that problem again!
